INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Bogota, Colombia native Juan Piedrahita returned to Team Pelfrey IL after a brief hiatus to participate in the two-day, sixth Annual Chris Griffis Memorial Mazda Road to Indy Test hosted at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix circuit.
Piedrahita piloted the Team Pelfrey yellow No. 2 Gap Guard machine around the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course, which utilizes sections of the renowned 2.5-mile oval. The Colombian, paired with familiar faces at Team Pelfrey, was able to lay down solid laps as he was at the top of the charts the majority of the weekend. He finished the weekend with six top-five finishes including two top-three results.
The 24-year-old concluded the weekend driving 156 laps with a best time of 1:15.3428-seconds (116.539 mph) in session four during the first day of testing.
